First of all it is anesthesia not amnesia. There are two types of anesthesia- local/regional and general. Local/regional anesthesia just numbs a small affected area that will be operated on or where pain may occur. A good example of this is Novocaine from your dentist or an epidural during labor and delivery for a woman. A general anesthesia is where you are totally put to sleep and have no knowledge of what occurs during surgery. It depends on what kind you will get as to whether or not you will be awake. Hope this helps.
Every body is different in their own ways..mentally AND physically. First off, don't believe everything you read or watch. And whatever you watch..don't let it get to your head.

I'm pretty sure that if you have to have surgery, you're going to be in good hands and the people are quite professional. GL to you!Is it true amnesia doesn't work and you don't completely fall asleep sometimes?
